Weather
A positively balmy day lies ahead with plenty of sunshine, very little wind and mild maximum temperatures. It will take a while to warm up after a good refreeze last night and an inversion of temperatures- at 8am, it was -7°C in town and -3°C at the top of the Bellevarde. But maximum temperatures on South facing slopes will get up to 0 to 4°C at 2000m and 0 to -2°C at 3000m. This afternoon, a few thin high altitude clouds will spread out across the sky, before dissipating for a clear and starry night tonight.
Ski Report
Bellevarde
Trifollet remains closed. Epaule de Charvet and Santons will open late as a Snow Cannon malfunctioned and started releasing water, which quickly turned the pistes into ice rinks. It is very important to stay off these and all other closed pistes. The Boarder Cross and Snowpark are open.
The Tommeuses and Borsat chairlifts are open allowing access to Val Claret and Tignes le Lac.
Solaise
Every piste in the sector is open today, although the bottom of Marmottons will probably stay closed and instead cut onto the Arcelle piste.
Fornet
Cognon may open today.
The Pisaillas Glacier is completely open.
Off-Piste
The Avalanche Risk is 3 today. The recent snowfall is a little more stable after 2 good refreezes, but there are still plenty of slabs around and with the warmer temperatures on their way today, humidification means that NW and NE facing slopes that get a little sun could be triggered to slide by a single skier. This is particularly true lower down between 1600m and 1800m, where more snow accumulated.
Walking Routes
All pedestrian paths are open.
Cross Country
The Laisinant loop has opened for the first time this season, which means only the Le Daille track remains closed.
